19th August 2024: Weekly Crypto Trends
Bitcoin fell by 3% on the week, while Ethereum was unchanged. Bitcoin remains at the bottom of the short term range while Ethereum encounters short term downtrend.
Secondary coins were generally lower on the week, with the exceptions being Thorchain, up 14.8%, Fantom up 9% and BNB up 2.2%. Polkadot was down 10.3% and Solana down 10.9%.
Secondary coins remain split in terms of trend, with BNB, Near and Solana maintaining medium term uptrends, with the rest still in medium term downtrends. Shorter term, Thorchain, Dogecoin, Chainlink and Fantom have positive trend scores.
Crypto related stocks were mixed with Block Coinbase and Hive up 5-6%, and Marathon was down 4.6% and Microstrategy down 1.7%.
