Major coins were unchanged on the week
Secondary coins were mixed on the week: Stellar saw a rise of 6.2%, finding short term support at 0.11, and Ripple was up 3.7%, also finding some short term support at 0.5. The majority of coins remain on new short term lows.
Within Crypto related equities, Hive was down 9% on the week, Riot was down 6.3% and Block dropped 1.8%, but have all corrected to potential short term supports, becoming oversold in the process. Marathon, down 6.5%, approaches support at 10.
Crypto news was thin during the week.
According to a recent DEFI report, less than $38 billion in value remains locked within DeFi protocols across chains, down from $178 billion at the industry’s peak in 2021. $21.8 billion of that is currently held in Ethereum protocols.
Pepe Coin, has apparently officially been “rugged” as shady dealings by Pepecoin’s team have come to light. 16 trillion PEPE tokens (worth about $16 million) have been sold on various centralized exchanges. The coin fell over 20% this week. Anonymous rogue team members were responsible for the sales and have now disappeared, with the founder saying the tokens were never to be sold.
An extremely fortunate Bitcoin miner has scooped the full 6.25 Bitcoin reward after beating the odds to solve a Bitcoin block The result came about on 18th August. A previous lucky outcome happened on March 10th this year.
PokerGO Play, a new NFT-based social poker app, has been launched on Gala Games as a free-to-play game offering players a daily chip allotment. Winning chips from tables and tournaments rewards participants with entries into a sweepstakes which offer prizes in Gala Games’ GALA cryptocurrency.
