Last week, Elon Musk tweeted enthusiastically about the Starship rocket launch – despite it blowing up.
That’s like the developers of the Hindenberg saying ‘congratulations on a thrilling landing.’
But hey.
Planet Crypto has asked him to pick out his key landmark-moments in transportation history.

GREATEST MOMENT IN SPACE EXPLORATION.
Well, most people probably think that the moon landings were the greatest moment in space exploration history.
But they’re wrong.
As we’ve seen it was in the last few days: when the Starship went 39 miles in the air, went ‘PFFT’ like a wet fart, and sent fishermen in the Gulf of Mexico diving for cover.
It was truly fabulous. I learned a lot.
If Neil Armstrong was still with us, he’d be weeping in his soup.
And saying: ‘A small damp squib for a man, a giant soggy ocean for mankind.’
GREATEST MOMENT IN SHIPPING
Obviously one of the greatest developments in shipping history was the invention of the tall-sail Clipper ships.
And I don’t want to downplay that.
But surely a more exciting happening was when I was on holiday in Florida and the pedal snapped on my pedalo.
It was thrilling, because I ‘learned a lot.’
Namely, I learned to check pedalo-pedals for metal fatigue.
GREATEST MOMENT IN CARS
In 1896 – Henry Ford invented the Model T Car.
Yes, this was an important moment indeed.
But surely, equally significant was when my Tesla broke down on the Pacific Coast Highway.
Yes, the Model T began the development of user-friendly internal combustion-engines.
But this was small beer in comparison to the melting of my battery outside Leggett in Mendocino County.
I’d like to congratulate the Tesla team for the rapid unscheduled disassembly.
