18th February 2024: Weekly Crypto Trends
Bitcoin and Ethereum have strong gains on the week, both making new short term highs.
Secondary coins also had a good week, with the better performers equalling the rises of the major coins. BNB and Chainlink have made new short term highs, while Solana encounters resistance at previous highs. Polygon makes short term base.
In terms of trend, Solana and Chainlink now have trend scores in the top quartile, while Thorchain and Avalanche are in the second quartile. The rest remain with negative medium term trend scores. Most of the coins do, however, have positive short term trend scores, but with Ripple, Monero, Doge and Stellar still weak.
Crypto related equities were sharply better on the week, with gains of 27% in Coinbase, 22.2% in Hive, 13.1% in Riot and 12.8% in Marathon. Coinbase makes new short term highs, while Marathon encounters some resistance at previous short term highs. Microstrategy did make new short term high, but is testing breakout level.
